Chaotic Good Stats: Ironsworn
A downloadable rules supplement
I've never cared for the stat generation method in Shawn Tompkin's Ironsworn rpg: here's an array of numbers, assign them where you like. This is more appropriate if you have an idea for the type of character you want to portray and try to shape the ability bonuses to suit. But I prefer a more random approach, throwing some bones and letting the dice gods decide what type of character to reveal to me.
In addition, I feel like the Heart and Shadow attributes should have some inverse relationship: if you are Courageous and Loyal, you should not be Deceptive and Sneaky. Likewise with Iron and Edge, I believe you may be Quick and Agile, but at a cost to Strength and Endurance.
With these ideas in mind, I created a new method for generating stat bonuses for Ironsworn. Chaotic Good Stats: Ironsworn randomizes the abilities and creates a push-pull relationship between diametrically opposed traits, all while maintaining statistical equivalency to the original rules.
TL;DR: Roll 1d3 for each in order: Edge, Heart, and Wits. Then assign Iron as 4 minus the value rolled for Edge, assign Shadow as 4 minus the value rolled for Heart.
That's it. That's all there is to it. But if you're interested, I've provided a little more commentary on the RAW and statistics in the document.
ACCESSIBILITY: The "accessible" version has been designed with accessibility in mind. It is text-only, set in OpenDyslexic font, with a high-contrast, color-blind friendly palette.

Thank you for making and sharing this! It is a simple way to address it, and gets me thinking about other ways to tweak the stats.
