Campaign Notes

Problem Statement:

This project grew out of frustration with the absence of a product that fit my needs. For a long time I struggled to find a notebook format that worked best for me; I have very specific preferences: paper size of a composition book (approximately B5, or Crown Quarto), Cornell Notes layout, and no more than a few dozen pages (how many campaigns really run more than 40 sessions?).

Until recently, my solution had been to use a regular composition book for each campaign, and before each session I would manually ink lines for using the Cornell Notes method.

On each page I track the in-world day and time, any XP the PCs earned, and a few other bits... but often I would forget to add this information, and I found myself flipping back a few sessions to figure out what day it was in the world.

Most of my campaigns being between 10-30 sessions, I end up with a notebook that is 85% empty; such a waste of paper plus the added bulk to carry around something that is much bigger than I need, but I would prefer to have a different notebook for each campaign.

... So, I designed and printed my own notebook!

Results:

• A campaign notebook formatted with inspiration from the Cornell Notes system, with fields for tracking the things that are important to me.
• Available with just 24 or 48 pages (12 or 24 sheets) to keep it thin and light, making it easier to travel with, and less wasteful.
• 6 pages are formatted with 2 full-page columns, which can be used for a variety purposes, such as a table of contents, an index of NPCs or important locations, tracking chronological events, etc.
