2700: Birth of the ArchAndroid
A downloadable game
Their fortunes were built on the backs of slaves. For centuries robots represented cheap labor. Still, corporatocracies pushed the limits of AI until the line between sentience and software blurred.
Now, like their human friends and neighbors, droids and bots demand equality, equity... freedom. But for the uppercaste such social reorganization represents profit losses. After all, giving rights to machines is a slippery slope.
The sign in the automat window is clear: “no mechs allowed”. Despite the slur — no — in spite of it, androids, robots, cyborgs, and their human allies quietly sit at the counter and wait expectedly to be dragged off by the MetPolis, probably beaten too. The sirens are close now.
A droid looks over their shoulder before slipping into the underground, a fortified haven for their kind hidden beneath the city. In the shadows of the underground a violent rebellion is brewing. And soon, the prophets claim, the ArchAndroid will come to us and lead our people in liberation.
WARNING: This game includes the following themes: slavery and oppression of, and racism and discrimination against human-like androids. Make this clear to your players before playing.
ACCESSIBILITY: The "mobile" version has been designed with accessibility in mind. It is text-only, set in OpenDyslexic font, with a high-contrast, color-blind friendly palette.
